Are the Charging Estimates Too Downbeat?

Has anyone else noticed that the charging time estimate on their i5 is totally off? It feels like its taking ages just to get to 80%. What’s going on with that? Anyone know what’s up?

My i5’s got the same hiccup, but I’m not freaking out over the estimate.

I’m pretty sure BMW will fix it up in a future software update. Just hang tight!

Usually, I just juice up my ride overnight at home, but this past weekend, I decided to give it a speedy boost to 80% while hanging out at EA. And guess what? It totally smashed the projected charge time by 13 minutes! Talk about a win!

For me, that timing is always on point! The app indicates 14:00, and sure enough, it’s done right on the dot. I’ve never bothered to check the car while it’s charging though.

Mine’s the opposite. When I plug into that 3.7kW socket and juice up from 20% to 80%, it takes about an hour and a half less than expected.

I've had similar experiences with my i5. The charging estimates can be a bit on the pessimistic side, especially as you get closer to 80%. It's designed that way to help preserve the battery's health.
