iPhone users with Digital Key Plus, need help! When you get into your EV, does it automatically switch to your profile or do you have to tap the screen first?

Ideally, getting in the car should be a smooth and effortless experience. Did you try calling your dealer?

Yup I went back to them and it turns out that my car was extremely picky. I had to delete all of the digital keys and reset them. Who knew, right? Weird, but at least it works now! According to the dealership, attempting to use digital keys without first driving with a regular key causes my car to throw a tantrum. It's like it needs to see some identification or something!

I use Digital Key Plus with my iPhone, and yes, it should switch to your profile automatically. I don’t have to tap the screen or do anything, it just knows it’s me once I get in. It’s one of those small things that makes the i5 feel like next-level tech.

If yours isn’t working, it’s worth re-pairing the digital key through the MyBMW app and ensuring location services and UWB are enabled on your phone. Also, make sure no one else’s profile is accidentally connected to your key, as that can confuse the car.
