BMW just dropped their Q3 2024 numbers, and their EV sales are actually pretty good 103,440 electric cars sold! That's their third-best quarter ever. But here's the crazy part: even though EV sales are up 10% compared to the other year, their overall sales are down a whopping 13%! Like, what?! And get this, even their "electrified" sales (which include both EVs and plug-in hybrids) barely changed. Which makes it sound like nobody's buying PHEVs anymore.

So, they're selling way more EVs, but way fewer gas cars, Minis, and even motorcycles. Is this the beginning of the end for gas cars? Are they more sensitive to market changes than regular BMWs? I'm really curious to see how BMW reacts to this. What do you think they'll do next?

BMW’s EV numbers are holding up strong, but that 13% drop in total sales? Kinda weird! The electric shift is definitely in full swing, but it’s also showing that the demand for gas cars and hybrids is starting to fade. I’m curious if BMW will keep pushing hard on EVs or try to keep things balanced with their traditional lineup.

BMW’s shift toward EVs is clear, but the drop in overall sales is surprising. Maybe they’ll double down on EVs or adjust their PHEV strategy.

It’s a funky spot for them! They’re clearly all in on EVs now, but if PHEVs aren’t selling like they used to, they might just go all-out on beefing up their all-electric lineup. I can totally see them doubling down on EV tech and throwing in some sweet incentives to keep up with the demand shift.
