I've had my i5 for a few months now, and I'm still playing around with the different drive modes. I mostly use Personal, Sport, and Eco Pro the others don't seem that different. What does that even mean? And yeah, BMW's thing is a bit much. Has anyone else noticed how much smoother the ride is in the i5 compared to the i4? I test drove the i4 a while back, and it felt way bumpier. My i5 just glides over everything, which I love. I'm usually not a fan of SUVs, but this one is really growing on me. Anyone else feel this way? Also, any tips for maximizing range in Eco Pro mode beyond just being gentle on the accelerator?

BMW’s drive modes are definitely a bit overcomplicated, but the difference is there.

Sport Mode tightens everything up and boosts acceleration.
Eco Pro Mode dulls throttle response and limits HVAC to save power.
Personal Mode just lets you pick your favorite settings.

Honestly, I keep mine in Personal or Sport because Eco Pro makes the throttle too unresponsive for my taste. If you want better efficiency, you don’t necessarily need Eco Pro, just use Adaptive Regeneration, smooth acceleration, and precondition before leaving. That’ll give you better results without making the car feel sluggish.

The i5's smoother ride is definitely a standout, for Eco Pro, try using the regen braking more, minimizing HVAC use, and keeping speeds moderate. It's all about efficiency balance.

Totally agree on the i5's smoothness! It's a noticeable upgrade. For Eco Pro, beyond gentle acceleration, try maximizing regen braking and planning your routes to avoid steep inclines. The i5 is a fantastic vehicle, enjoy!
