Can't Play Videos on iDrive 8.5 USB

Does anyone have any tips for playing video formats like MP4 or MKV on their iDrive 8.5? I can get MP3 files to work, but videos just won't play.

Is there a hidden setting or a workaround I'm missing? Is this a limitation of the system itself?

I heard you can totally trick your media player into playing MP4 videos just by renaming them as MP3 files. Crazy, right? Apparently, this only works with version 8.5, though. Seems like the media player is only set up for certain codecs, so that’s why this little hack actually does the trick. Give it a shot and see if it works for you!
