I'm thinking of getting rid of my i4 eDrive40 and getting an i5 M60. I used to have an F10 M5 and loved it. The i4 is good for short trips, but I miss having a bigger, more comfortable car for road trips. My back hurts on long drives in the i4, but it never did in the M5.

I test drove the i5 M60, and it was nice, but I have some concerns. It felt heavy, especially on curvy roads. It handled okay, but wasn;t as sporty as I expected. There was also more wind noise than I thought there would be when I was driving on the highway around 60-65 mph. I'm worried about the battery. It seems like it might not be big enough for such a heavy car. On my 55-mile test drive, I only got 2.6 miles per kilowatt-hour, which isn't very good. It had big 21-inch wheels, which probably made it worse. I also wonder how fast it will actually charge, even though it's supposed to be able to charge at 205 kWh.

The BMW i4 eDrive40 and i5 M60 both have roughly the same 84kWh battery pack. However, because the dual-motor i5 M60 uses more power, the single-motor i4 eDrive40 has a longer range. On the flip side, the i5 M60 usually charges faster thanks to its higher charging capacity, meaning it can hit 80% charge quicker at a DC fast charger.

The i5 M60 could be a great fit for road trips and comfort, but I understand your concerns about handling, range, and charging speed. It might be worth considering smaller wheels and possibly looking into long-term battery performance for peace of mind.
