A friend of mine in the UK is jumping from a G30 530e LCI to an i5 Touring, and he’s really excited about the setup he chose. He went with the i5 eDrive40 in M Sport Pro, adding in both the technology plus and comfort plus packs, and he opted for a Red finish for a bold look. He’s also trying to see if his dealer can arrange an M suspension delete, does anyone have experience with that?

He's especially curious about how the all-touchscreen interface compares to the traditional setup, so if anyone has made that switch, he’d love to hear how it feels in day-to-day driving.

Hi @Emmy01

Your friend’s i5 Touring setup sounds perfect! He’ll find the touchscreen quite intuitive, with options for custom widgets, favorites, and solid voice commands. Once he sets preferences, the steering wheel buttons handle most tasks, so the transition from traditional controls should feel natural.

Thanks for the insight, that sounds great, I am glad to hear the transition to the touchscreen should be smooth for him.

Your friend’s i5 Touring sounds like quite the head-turner in red, bold choice! As for the all-touchscreen setup, it’s a learning curve; just tell him to keep a microfiber cloth handy. Goodbye buttons, hello fingerprints!

Has your friend contacted the dealership about it? Some people prefer the minimalist design of the new interface, while others miss the physical buttons. It would be better if he would check it out in person.

The i5 Touring sounds amazing in red...The all-touchscreen setup does take some getting used to, but it's sleek.

He checked it out in person at the dealership, and the touchscreen interface is now working great for him. The minimalist design took a little getting used to, but he’s really enjoying the new setup. He’s also confirmed that the M suspension delete can be arranged, so everything is sorted.
